In 2012, Assembly Elections  are going to be held in seven states i.e. Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakahnd, Punjab, Manipur, Goa, Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat. The schedule for elections is announced by ECI. The elections will start from late January & the process will go on till the month of March 2012. 

National Election Watch (NEW), a nationwide campaign comprising of more than 1200 NGO and other citizen led organizations working on electoral reforms, improving democracy and

governance in India has been monitoring the candidates for 2012 Assembly Election declared by political parties. The National Election Watch is active in almost all states of India and has done election watch for all states and Lok Sabha elections since ADR, along with couple other organizations, won the PIL in Supreme Court in 2002 to making disclosure of educational, financial and criminal background of electoral candidates mandatory.

ADR/NEW will release analysis and reports based on all these 5 states. There will be other combined reports released as well based on political parties and election expenses.
