WARANGAL: Three TDP workers were taken into custody here on Sunday after they were allegedly distributing money to voters at Vikasnagar area in Hanamkonda, which falls in Warangal West constituency.

Subedari police SI Vasala Satish said the three workers were booked under Section 123 of Representation of People's Act. Police also recovered Rs 40,130 from the trio. The arrested persons --K Bharath Reddy, Srinath Reddy and Venkat Reddy-- are followers of TDP candidate Vem Narender Reddy.

Sources said the three activists along with party workers camped at Vikasnagar and distributed poll slips with the money. "An unidentified voter called and informed us about the distribution of money. Our men rushed to the spot and caught them red-handed," the SI added.
