Association for Democratic Reforms and Puducherry Election Watch have analysed the vote share for all 30 constituencies in the Puducherry Assembly Elections, 2026.The voter’s turnout for the Puducherry assembly elections 2026 was 91.11% whereas voter’s turnout in 2021 assembly elections was 83.31%.

The Puducherry Assembly election result was declared on 4th May 2026.

Vote Share of Winners

  • The winners of the Puducherry State Assembly elections 2026, won with an average of 44.43% of total votes polled. In the 2021 elections, winners won with an average of 50.77% of total votes polled.
  • 9 (30%) winners won with 50% and above of the total votes polled in their constituency .
  • 21 (70%) winners won with less than 50% of the total votes polled in their constituency.
  • 4 (27%) out of 15 winners with declared criminal cases have won with a vote share of 50% and above.
  • 5 (33%) out of 15 winners with clean backgrounds have won with a vote share of 50% and above.
  • 8 (28%) out of 29 crorepati winners analysed have won with a vote share of 50% and above.
  • 1 (100%) out of 1 non-crorepati winner has won with a vote share of 50% and above.

Representativeness of Winners

  • All the winners of the Puducherry State Assembly Elections, 2026 won with an average of 40.48% of the total registered voters. This implies that the winners represent on an average, 40.48% of the total electorate. In the Puducherry State Assembly Elections, 2021 won by an average of 42.29% of the total registered votes.

Margin of Victory

  • 7 winners have won with a margin of victory of less than 1000 votes.
  • 2 winners have won with more than 30% margin of victory.

Winners with Declared Criminal Cases and their Margin of Victory

  • 11 out of 15 winners with declared criminal cases have won against a runner up with a clean background.
  • Among these 11 winners, 2 winners have won with more than 30% margin of victory.
  • Among these, G.N.S. Rajasekaran (BJP) from Thirunallar constituency won with 34.06% margin of victory.

Crorepati Winners and their Margin of Victory

  • 2 out of 29 crorepati winners have won against a non-crorepati runners up.
  • Among these 2 winners, 1 winner has won with more than 20% margin of victory.
  • Among these, A. Namassivayam (BJP) from Mannadipet constituency won with 20.71% margin of victory.

Performance of Re-elected Winners

  • Out of total 10 re-elected winners, none have won with less than 30% of vote share in their respective constituencies. 2 (20%) have won with more than 50% of vote share.
  • 6 (60%) re-elected winners have won with less than 10% margin of victory whereas 3 winners have won with more than 20% margin of victory.

NOTA

  • The NOTA button instated by the ECI in 2013 gave the voters an option of rejecting all the candidates in their constituency. Out of 8,66,139 votes polled in 2026 Puducherry Assembly Elections, 6,633 (0.77%) were polled for NOTA.
