Association for Democratic Reforms and Bihar Election Watch have analysed the vote share for all 243 constituencies in the Bihar Assembly Elections, 2025. The voter’s turnout for the Bihar Assembly was 67.2% whereas voter’s turnout in 2020 assembly elections was 58.7%.

The Bihar Assembly election result was declared on 14th November 2025.

Vote Share of Winners

• The winners of the Bihar State Assembly elections 2025, won with an average of 47.61% of total votes polled. In the 2020 elections, winners won with an average of 43.01% of total votes polled.
• 79 (33%) winners won with 50% and above of the total votes polled in their constituency
• 164 (67%) winners won with less than 50% of the total votes polled in their constituency
• 34 (26%) out of 131 winners with declared criminal cases have won with a vote share of 50% and above.
• 45 (40%) out of 112 winners with clean backgrounds have won with a vote share of 50% and above.
• 70 (32%) out of 218 crorepati winners analysed have won with a vote share of 50% and above.
• 9 (36%) out of 25 non-crorepati winners have won with a vote share of 50% and above.

Representativeness of Winners

• All the winners of the Bihar State Assembly Elections, 2025 won with an average of 32.01% of the total registered voters. This implies that the winners represent on an average, 32.01% of the total electorate. In the Bihar State Assembly Elections, 2020 won by an average of 25.23% of the total registered votes.

Margin of Victory

• 7 winners have won with a margin of victory of less than 500 votes.
• 2 winners have won with more than 30% margin of victory.

Winners with Declared Criminal Cases and their Margin of Victory

• 43 out of 131 winners with declared criminal cases have won against a runner up with a clean background.
• Among these 43 winners, 3 winners have won with more than 20% margin of victory.
• Among these, Rama Nishad (BJP) from Aurai constituency won with 27.51% margin of victory.

Winners with clean background and their Margin of Victory

• 65 out of 112 winners with clean backgrounds have won against a runner up with declared criminal cases.
• Among these 65 winners, 5 winners have won with more than 25% margin of victory.
• Among these, Kaladhar Prasad Mandal (JD(U)) from Rupauli constituency won with 32.68% margin of victory.

Crorepati Winners and their Margin of Victory

• 34 out of 218 crorepati winners have won against a non-crorepati runners up.
• Among these 34 winners, 4 winners have won with more than 25% margin of victory.
• Among these, Sanjiv Chaurasia (BJP) from Digha constituency won with 30.12% margin of victory.

Non-crorepati Winners and their Margin of Victory

• 15 out of 25 non-crorepati winners have won against crorepati runners up.
• Among these 15 winners, 2 winners have won with more than 20% margin of victory.
• Among these, Sujeet Kumar (BJP) from Rajnagar constituency won with 22.11% margin of victory.

Performance of Women Winners

• Among the 243 winners, 29 are women.
• All of them won with 29% and above of vote share in their constituencies.
• Among the women winners, Leshi Singh (JD(U)) from Dhamdaha constituency has won with the highest vote share, i.e. 57% in her constituency. She has won with 44% representativeness and 23% margin of victory.

Performance of Re-elected Winners

• Out of total 111 re-elected winners, none have won with less than 30% of vote share in their respective constituencies. 30 (27%) have won with more than 50% of vote share.
• 56 (50%) re-elected winners have won with less than 10% margin of victory whereas 1 has won with more than 30% margin of victory.

NOTA

• The NOTA button instated by the ECI in 2013 gave the voters an option of rejecting all the candidates in their constituency. Out of 5,02,07,733 votes polled in 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections, 9,10,730 (1.81%) were polled for NOTA.
