The list of assets of political parties in the country for the financial year 2019-2020 has been released. The BJP is the richest political party in the country at the center during this period. According to NDTV, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has assets worth Rs 4,847.78 crore, according to figures released by the Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR), an election watchdog.

At the same time, it is noteworthy that the Congress is not the second largest party in terms of assets. BSP is the second richest party with assets of Rs 698.33 crore. The Congress has assets worth Rs 588.16 crore. The ADR has released data on the assets of seven national parties and 44 regional parties for the 2019-20 financial year.

According to the report, the assets of the seven national parties are worth Rs 6988.57 crore. 2129.38 crore for regional parties. The BJP alone accounts for 69.37 per cent of the total assets of the seven national parties. The BSP owns 9.99 per cent of the total assets and the Congress 8.42 per cent.

The Samajwadi Party is the richest of the regional parties. For the financial year 2019-20, SP has assets of Rs 563.47 crore. The second TRS has Rs 301.47 crore and the third IADMK has Rs 267.61 crore.

During the financial year 2019-20, the total liabilities of seven national parties and 44 regional parties stood at Rs 134.93 crore. Of this, the debt of regional parties alone is Rs 60.66 crore.
