Chhokar expressed concern over irregularities in the Lok Sabha elections, noting that there has been excessive delay in releasing the final voting figures, a lack of consistent data from different polling stations, and questions about whether election results were based on the final reconciled figures. These issues have raised questions among the people of the country.

As per a report released by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), a discrepancy has come to the fore between the total votes cast and the votes counted in the recently concluded Lok Sabha polls. Jagdeep Chhokar, the founder of ADR, released a report at the press club on Monday, alleging that 5,54,598 votes were counted less than the total votes cast on 362 seats, as per news agency PTI. He further stated that 35,093 votes were counted more than the total votes cast on 176 seats.

According to the ADR report, there is a significant difference between the total votes cast and the votes counted in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections compared to the 2019 general elections.

These issues have raised questions among the people of the country.

The ADR report claims that the Election Commission has not yet released the final data of the counting. Furthermore, the Commission has been unable to respond to discrepancies between the votes cast and the votes counted.

It stated that information on how the voter turnout percentage increased is still not available. The report noted that significant discrepancies were found between the votes cast and counted in the results of the 2024 general elections across 538 parliamentary constituencies, with the exception of Amreli, Attingal, Lakshadweep, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu.
Notably, the Election Commission released the total voting data for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections on June 7. This time, the overall voter turnout was recorded at 65.79 per cent, which is 1.61 per cent lower compared to the 2019 elections. The turnout in 2019 was 67.40 per cent.

The report mentions that in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, there were no discrepancies between the votes cast and the votes counted in 195 constituencies.

In this Lok Sabha election, the BJP secured 240 seats, while the Congress won 99 seats.
