The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has grown its asset base by 22 per cent in 2017-18, with an asset declaration of Rs 1,483.35 crore made against the previous year's figure of Rs 1,213 crore, reports The Economic Times.

The party submitted the figure to the election watchdog Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR). ADR's reports stated that BJP was among seven parties whose assets had grown by more than six per cent compared to asset declarations made in 2016-17.

The reports from ADR also revealed that the Indian National Congress (INC) and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) had witnessed a decline in their assets as per the declarations made.

For the Congress party, the figure fell from Rs 854.75 crore to 724.35 crore, a drop of approximately 15 per cent, while the figure for NCP fell from Rs 11.41 crore to 9.54 crore.

Mamata Banerjee led Trinamool Congress (TMC) witnessed an increase of 10.86 per cent in the asset base.
