Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR) has released details of donations received by various political parties through Electoral Bonds in 2019-20. Out of the total seven electoral trusts, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) received the highest amount of Rs. 276.45 crores were donated. This is 76.17% of the total donations. The Congress, which is next in line, received only 15.98% (Rs 58 crore) in donations, according to a report released by the ADR on Wednesday. JSW, Apollo Tires, Indiabulls, Delhi International Airport and DLF Group are among the top five donors.
JSW has a maximum of Rs. 39.10 crore while Apollo Tires Rs. 30 crore, Indiabulls Rs. 25 crores were donated. Eighteen individuals also made personal donations to these trusts. 10 of them contributed a total of Rs. 2.87 crores. Five persons made a donation of Rs. 5.5 lakhs. Another four Swadeshi Electoral Trusts received Rs. Gave 1 lakh. Other parties include AAP, Shiv Sena, Samajwadi Party, Yuva Janajagriti Party, Jananayaka Party, JDU, JMM, LJP, Shiromani Akali Dal, JKNC, INLD and RLD. 25.46 crores were received. It is learned that the Election Commission has directed the Electoral Trusts to provide them with full details of donations in the form of a report every year.
