BJP Richest Political Party: BJP, the ruling party at the center, is the richest party among all political parties. BJP has declared assets worth Rs 4847.78 crore for the 2019-20 financial year. Bahujan Samaj Party is the second richest political party after BJP. The Association of Democratic Reforms ADR, an organization working towards electoral reforms, has released these figures.
The Association for Democratic Reforms has prepared this report on the basis of its analysis of assets and liabilities of national and regional parties in 2019-20. According to the ADR, the total assets declared by seven national and 44 regional parties during the financial year stood at Rs 6,988.57 crore and Rs 2,129.38 crore. Among the seven national parties, the BJP has the highest assets of Rs 4847.78 crore, which is 69.37 percent. BSP is in second place with Rs 698.33 crore and BSP has 9.99 per cent assets. Congress, the oldest political party, has declared assets of only Rs 588.16 crore in 2019-20, which is only 8.42 per cent of the total assets of national parties.
Among the 44 regional parties, the assets of the top 10 parties account for 95.27 per cent of the total declared assets. In the financial year 2019-20, among the regional parties, Samajwadi Party has the highest assets of Rs 563.47 crore, which is 26 declared which is 46 percent. While TRS has declared assets of Rs 301.47 crore and AIADMK Rs 267.61 crore.
BJP and BSP have deposited Rs 3,253.00 crore and Rs 618.86 crore in national parties under FDR and fixed deposit category for the 2019-20 financial year. Whereas Congress has declared Rs 240.90 crore. Among regional parties, Samajwadi Party has declared the maximum assets at Rs 563.47 crore, TRS Rs 301.47 crore and AIADMK Rs 267.61 crore under FDR and fixed deposits category.
The total liability declared by seven national and 44 regional parties for the financial year 2019-20 is Rs.134.93 crore. Regional political parties have declared a total liability of Rs 60.66 crore in the financial year 2019-20. Regional parties declared Rs 30.29 crore under borrowings and Rs 30.37 crore under other liabilities and in FY 2019-20, TDP announced the highest total liabilities of Rs 30.342 crore (50.02 per cent), followed by DMK at 8.05. crore (13.27 per cent) declared.
