Chandigarh: Criminal cases are registered against 117 candidates contesting Haryana assembly elections. Among them, the highest number of candidates are from Congress party and lowest number of BJP. There are a total of 1168 candidates in the fray this time. There are criminal cases related to women against five candidates contesting the election and attempt to murder against 5 candidates.

At the same time, there are two candidates who have cases of rape. This information has been revealed in the report of The Haryana Election Watch and Association for Democratic Reforms. The affidavit given by the 1138 candidates out of 1168 to the Election Commission has been inspected. At the same time, according to the instructions of the Supreme Court, the candidates are required to reach the public through newspapers and TV channels about the unfounded cases filed against them before the elections.

The Haryana Election Watch and Association for Democratic Reforms has assessed the affidavit given to the Election Commission of 1138 candidates. After Congress, Bahujan Samaj Party is in second place. Out of which 86 out of 86 candidates i.e. 14 percent of candidates have criminal cases registered against them.
