Affidavits of 108 candidates contesting assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh uploaded on Election Commission's website are either not scanned properly, or some pages in them are missing, claimed Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR).

In it's letter dated November 22, ADR's Madhya Pradesh unit wrote to the chief electoral officer of the state informing that: "ahead of the elections that are scheduled on November 28, affidavits of 108 candidates are either not scanned properly, or some pages of the affidavits are missing." ADR works for electoral reforms.

The letter also mentions that the Supreme Court while hearing a petition filed by ADR on March 13, 2003 had made it mandatory for the candidates to provide information about their financial, criminal, and education backgrounds. The court has also clarified in its order that only the affidavit could provide the information about the background of the candidates to the voters.
