Various political parties have redeemed electoral bonds worth Rs 3,429.56 crore in 2019-20 in which four parties – Bharatiya Janata Party, Congress, Trinamool Congress and Nationalist Congress Party have received 87.29 percent. This has been said in the report of Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), an organization related to election rights. It has been said in the report that in the financial year 2019-20, BJP declared total income of Rs 3623.28 crore but the party spent only 45.57 percent i.e. Rs 1651.02 crore.

It said that the total income of the Congress party in this financial year was Rs 682.21 crore and it spent Rs 998.15 crore. In this way, the Congress party spent 46.31 percent more than the income. Trinamool Congress earned Rs 143.67 crore in the financial year 2019-20 and spent Rs 107.27 crore, which is 74.67 percent of the total income.

According to the new report of ADR, according to SBI data shared in response to the RTI application filed by ADR, various political parties have encashed electoral bonds worth Rs 3,429.56 crore in 2019-20 in which four national parties- Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress, Trinamool Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) have received 87.29 percent amount.

BJP got 2555 crores through electoral bonds

According to the ADR, in the financial year 2019-20, national and regional parties declared electoral bonds worth Rs 3441.32 crore. The difference between the electoral bonds declared by the political parties and the bonds redeemed may be due to the manner in which these parties report the audit reports. ADR has said in its report that seven political parties BJP, Congress, Trinamool Congress, NCP, BSP, CPI, CPI(M) earned Rs 4758.20 crore as income from all over India.

It has been said in the report that in the financial year 2019-20, four political parties BJP, Congress, Trinamool Congress and NCP received 62.92 percent amount i.e. Rs 2993.82 crore in the form of donation through electoral bonds in their total income. BJP received Rs 2555 crore as donation through electoral bonds, Congress Rs 317.86 crore, Trinamool Congress Rs 100.46 crore and NCP Rs 20.50 crore.
