Ramesh Kumar Sharma, an independent candidate from Bihar is the richest candidate in the seventh and the final phase of Lok Sabha elections 2019. According to a report by One India, Sharma has declared assets of over Rs. 1,107 crore in the affidavit to Election Commission. He is contesting from Pataliputra constituency of Bihar, and has total assets worth Rs. 11, 07, 58,33,190. This information is available in a report by the Association for Democratic Reforms.

Sharma has movable assets valued at Rs. 7, 08,33,190 and has immovable assets worth Rs. 11,00,50,00,000. Konda Vishweshwar Reddy is the second on the list with assets of Rs. 895 crore. He is a Congress candidate who is contesting elections from Chevella, Telangana. His movable assets are worth Rs. 8,56,38,18,770 while the immovable assets are worth Rs. 8,56,38,18,770.

Nakul Nath of the Congress from Chhindwara Lok Sabha constituency is the third on the list with assets worth Rs 6,60,19,46,757 (660 crore). He has movable and immovable assets worth Rs. 6,18,41,72,757 and Rs 41,77,74,000 respectively. The average assets per candidate contesting in the elections to be held on May 19 is Rs 4.61 crore. Among major parties, the average assets per candidate for 45 Congress candidates is Rs 17.15 crores, for 43 BJP candidates it is Rs 9.82 crore, 39 BSP candidates have average assets of Rs 5.24 crore, and 14 AAP candidates have average assets of Rs 5.20 crore.

On the other hand, Congress candidate from Punjab’s Sangur, Pappu Kumar, along with Shiv Charan of the Jai Hind Party from UP’s Maharajganj and Sunil Kumar Pandey of the Congress from UP’s Salempur are the candidates who have declared zero assets.
