The report released by the Association for Democratic Reforms ie ADR has revealed that 90 percent of the members of the Bihar Legislative Council are crorepatis. At the same time, 63 percent of the members have criminal cases registered.

Even though the economic condition of the general public in Bihar is not so much better than in other states, 90 percent of the state’s Legislative Council members are crorepatis. In fact, a report released by the Association for Democratic Reforms ie ADR, an organization working for electoral reforms, has revealed that 90 percent of the members of the Bihar Legislative Council are crorepatis. At the same time, 63 percent of the members have criminal cases registered against them. The Legislative Council is considered to be the upper house. The things that have come out in the ADR report are very shocking. According to the report, 63% of the members of the Bihar Legislative Council have criminal cases registered, out of which 33% have serious criminal cases registered.

Along with this, 90% of the members of this house are crorepatis. All 24 members who have been elected from the local authority come in this group. The report was released on Monday by ADR’s Bihar chief Rajiv Kumar. In this, 60 members of the 75-member Legislative Council were surveyed. The basis of this report has been told on the affidavit given as a candidate.

Most criminal cases registered against BJP members

This report has been prepared on the basis of the oath that the candidates file at the time of the election. According to the report, 38 out of 60 members are accused in criminal cases. Out of these 38, the names of 20 are registered in the list of serious offences. There are 9 members who are facing charges of attempt to murder and cases like murder are going on against 2 members. There are allegations of female atrocities against two. According to the data of the report, maximum number of criminal cases are registered against BJP members. Of the 16 BJP members surveyed, 11 have criminal cases registered against them.

At the same time, 10 out of 14 members of RJD and 8 out of 18 members of Janata Dal United have criminal cases registered. Along with this, three out of four members of Congress and two members of CPI are also accused. In cases of serious crime, 55 members of BJP and RJD while 7 members of JDU are accused.

Independent member Sachchidanand Rai is the owner of assets worth Rs 1108 crore

Out of the 75 members of the Legislative Council, the richest independent member is Sachchidanand Rai. His movable and immovable assets are Rs 1108 crore. BJP’s Rajiv Kumar and Ashok Agarwal are at number two and third. Explain that the average assets of 75 members is 33.87 crores.
