Out of 60 MLAs analyzed, 25(42%) MLAs have declared election expenses of less than 50% of the expense limit in their constituency. The data was prepared by the Association for Democratic Reforms while analysing the election MLAs from Tripura who contested the 2018 elections.

Based on the election expense declarations of 60 MLAs from Tripura Assembly, the average amount of money spent by them in the elections is Rs 11.25 lakhs, which is 56% of the expense limit.

The party wise average election expenses shows that the average spending for 36 MLAs from BJP is Rs 12.96 lakhs (64.8% of the expense limit). For 16 MLAs from CPI(M), the average election expenditure is Rs 7.68 lakhs (38.4% of the expense limit) and for 8 IPFT MLAs, the average election expenditure is Rs 10.69 Lakhs (53.5% of the expense limit).
