Out of the 25 candidates within the fray for the 2 Lok Sabha seats that may witness a bypoll on Monday, over 24 per cent have pending legal instances towards them, in accordance with affidavits submitted to the Election Fee (EC).

Out of the 25, 16 per cent have critical legal instances, based on an evaluation of their sworn affidavits by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and Maharashtra Election Watch. Bypolls are being held to the Bhandara-Gondiya and Palghar Lok Sabha constituencies.

“The candidates are all males and are all literate. Only one candidate dropped out after main faculty, 4 dropped out after middle faculty and three completed their metric. Seven candidates have declared their instructional qualification as 12th move, whereas five every are graduate and submit graduate,” the report reads.
