Gujarat Election Watch organised a webinar on "Panchayat Audits – Process and Responsibility of Elected Representatives of Panchayats" with Sarpanch and Panchayat members on 23rd February 2022. They motivated youths to contest Panchayat elections. It was observed that many young Sarpanches were contesting for the first time and thus, unaware of the Panchayat functioning and legal provisions. Hence, they planned the webinar.

Impact: Many youths adopted ethical practices while contesting the elections and won by spending less than Rs. 5000. The average expenditure made by panchayat candidates is in lakhs.
