BANGALORE: According to a study conducted by Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR) and Daksh on sitting Lok Sabha members, the insights taken from around 250,000 people across 500-plus Lok Sabha seats reveal the various issues they think are most important. The scores were based on key performance indicators like public perception of reliability and trustworthiness, attendance in Lok Sabha, number of questions and type of questions raised in the House, their track record of public service, ability to drive change, key issues raised in Parliament and vision for development. Based on these, here's a list of the 7 best performing parliamentarian.

KC Venugopal, Congress: Lok Sabha MP from Kerala, KC Venugopal, is the only brand new minister to join the Manmohan ministry and a young face in the Union government. An avid sports fan and a university-level volleyball player, Venugopal comes in following the exit of Shashi Tharoor from the ministry after the IPL controversy.

Interestingly, Venugopal who hails from Kannur district in northern Kerala has won the Lok Sabha elections from a district located in southern part of the state. Venugopal, a post graduate in Mathematics, is a three-time MLA and former minister, who resigned from the post of MLA to contest the Lok Sabha elections in 2009 and won the elections with a huge margin. He was a minister looking after temple affairs and tourism in the state for two years.
