Criminals in Bihar Elections – National Election Watch reveals 91 candidates with  pending criminal cases in field for Bihar Phase 4 elections (includes 49  with serious charges), total 481 such candidates so far in Bihar Elections

myneta.info has the report on criminal and financial background of the candidates contesting phase 4 elections in Bihar. This report is based on the self-declared affidavits filed by the contesting candidates with the Election Commission of India. Please help in disseminating this information far and wide.

Here are the highlights for the 4thphase:

· 91 candidates (38%) with self declared pending criminal charges contesting in the fourth phase of Bihar Assembly Elections.

 

· 49 candidates out of these 91 have declared serious IPC charges like murder and attempt to murder charges against them.

 

· All major parties have given tickets to candidates with pending criminal cases. RJD – 62%, BJP – 53%, INC – 41%, LJP – 40%, JD (U) – 38%, BSP – 37%.

· 125 candidates (53%) have not declared their PAN card details.

 

· Details of all candidates are available on http://www.myneta.info. Toll-free Helpline has also started to help voters choose honest candidates

 

So far ADR and NEW have analyzed 1237 candidates contesting in the first four phases of the Bihar Assembly 2010 elections. Out of these 1237 candidates, 481 (39%) candidates have pending criminal cases.
