Mahendra Prasad: A politician from Janata Dal (United) party representing Bihar in the Rajya Sabha, Mahendra Prasad is one among the wealthiest Indian politicians, according to a recent survey by the Association of Democratic Reforms and the National Election Watch. With a total asset worth of 683 crore and immovable property valued at 28 crore, Prasad better known as King Mahendra in political circles. He is currently serving his sixth consecutive term in the Upper House after bagging second successive nomination from JD-U in 2012. Most of his assets are in movable form in banks as fixed deposits. Outside the political spheres, he has a pharmaceutical business and holds the Limca Book of Records for as the most traveled person having visited 205 countries including Antarctica till 15th August, 2008.

Vijay Mallya: Liquor baron and a second-time member of Indian parliament, Vijay Mallya has assets worth 615 crore and as such has come up in the list of the wealthiest politicos.

He earned his net worth as a successful businessman and politician. Mallya is the Chairman of the United Breweries Group, an Indian conglomerate with diverse interests in brewing, distilling, aviation, pharmaceuticals, real estate, engineering, fertilizers, biotechnology and information technology. He also owns the Formula-1 team, Force India and Bangalore Royal Challengers, the Indian Premier League team. He was the one who consolidated different companies into one big conglomerate, which was named the UB Group.
