Chamarajnagar MP R Dhruvanarayana and Bangalore North MP D B Chandre Gowda have been named best MPs from the State, according to a study conducted by Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR) and Daksh on sitting Lok Sabha members.

The ranking shows Dhruvanarayana stood at fifth position in the country while Chandre Gowda was at 43rd  position. Surprisingly, Bangalore South MP Ananth Kumar and P C Mohan were ranked 139 and 237 respectively.

Releasing the scores, Bangalore Political Action Committee (B.PAC) President Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, co-founder of Daksh Harsh Narasappa, co-founder of Citizen Matters K Meera, said “the scores help in overarching the endorsing process.”

The scores were based on key performance indicators including public perception of reliability and trustworthiness, attendance in Lok Sabha, number of questions and type of questions raised in the House, their track record of public service, ability to drive change, key issues raised in Parliament and vision for development.

The online news magazine Citizen Matters showed how MP-Local Area Development Scheme funds have been used by the MPs. To conduct the survey, about 1,000 people in Bangalore were asked about their aspirations and ratings.
