The latest report from the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) identifies Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu as the wealthiest chief minister in India, with assets totaling over Rs 931 crore. Contrastingly, Mamata Banerjee of West Bengal ranks as the poorest, with assets valued at Rs 15 lakh.

The report indicates that the average asset value for chief ministers across Indian states and union territories stands at Rs 52.59 crore. Data also show that a chief minister's average self-income significantly surpasses India's net national income per capita.

Arunachal Pradesh's Pema Khandu and Karnataka's Siddaramaiah are among the top in asset rankings, yet carry substantial liabilities. Notably, the report illuminates the prevalence of criminal cases among these leaders, with 13 disclosing legal challenges, and includes insights on gender representation within chief ministerial roles.
