Publicity topped the list of expenses, with the parties spending ₹2,008 crore, or more than 53%, of their total declared expenditure on it.

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spent ₹1,493.91 crore or 44.56%, and the main Opposition Congress spent ₹620.14 crore or 18.50% of the total expenditure incurred by 32 national and regional political parties during the 2024 Lok Sabha election, according to a report by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR).
