412 'millionaire' candidates are in the fray in Odisha assembly elections to be held from May 13 to June 1. Accordingly, out of 1283 candidates, 348 (27 percent) candidates have declared criminal cases against them.
Out of 1,121 candidates in the 2019 Odisha assembly elections, 332 (30 percent) had declared criminal cases against them. There are 292 candidates in this assembly election against whom serious criminal cases are pending. Similarly, 566 candidates have declared their educational qualification between 5th to 12th, while 652 candidates have educational qualification of graduation or above.
