ADR also claimed that delay in releasing the final voting percentage data, the non-availability of constituency-wise and polling station-wise data, and the ambiguity of whether the results were declared based on final tally figures have raised concerns about the veracity of the election results.
New Delhi: In a major claim, the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), the poll rights body said that there is a huge gap number of votes cast during the recently concluded Lok Sabha polls counted in 538 constituencies. As per the body, a total of 5,54,598 votes were counted in 362 Lok Sabha constituencies, while 35,093 votes were counted more than the votes cast in the remaining 176 parliamentary constituencies. The Election Commission is yet to respond to ADR’s claim.
As per a report by news agency PTI, ADR also claimed that delay in releasing the final voting percentage data, the non-availability of constituency-wise and polling station-wise data, and the ambiguity of whether the results were declared based on final tally figures have raised concerns about the veracity of the election results. However, ADR has not clarified how many seats the results would have changed.
The report said that there was no contest on Surat parliamentary seat. Therefore, there is a total difference of 5,89,691 votes on 538 parliamentary seats. It has been claimed that the number of voters shown on the Voter Turnout App for the first six phases of elections was absolutely correct. In the last phase i.e. the seventh phase of voting, only percentage figures were given and the previous data was removed by the Election Commission. “Surat PC was uncontested. Hence the total discrepancies in 538 PCs are 5,89,691 votes,” the report said.
The big claim about the 2019 elections too
The report further said that 2019 elections too, there were discrepancies in 347 seats. However, there was no difference in the remaining 195 seats. The difference between votes ranged from one vote to the highest votes of 1,01,323. There were six seats where the discrepancy in votes was more than the margin of victory. The total difference was 739104 votes, the body added further in its report.
