List Of Candidates With Lowest Assets In Phase 1 Of Lok Sabha Election 2024: With just a week left for the general election, candidates from various political parties have disclosed personal details, including assets and any criminal background. Among them, a candidate has emerged with the lowest assets of just Rs 320.

Lok Sabha election is just a week ahead and parties have intensified campaigning. Leaders have declared their assets as per the rules laid by the Election Commission of India. According to an analysis conducted by the Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR), independent candidate Ponraj K from Toothkudi constituency of Tamil Nadu has emerged as the poorest candidate in phase 1 of the Lok Sabha election 2024 with assets worth just Rs 320, while Congress candidate Nakul Nath has emerged as the richest candidate with assets worth Rs 717 crore.

ADR report has analysed 1618 candidates among 102 constituencies that are going for the poll in the first phase of the Lok Sabha election 2024.

An analysis conducted by the Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR) also sheds light on significant disparities in wealth among candidates contesting seats in the first phase of the elections. According to the ADR findings, approximately 28 percent of candidates participating in this phase are categorised as "crorepatis," possessing assets exceeding Rs 1 crore each. The average assets per candidate are recorded at Rs 4.51 crores, with noticeable discrepancies observed across party affiliations.

The ADR analysis further indicates that candidates with assets surpassing Rs 1 crore are prevalent among major political parties. This includes all four candidates of the RJD, 35 out of 36 candidates of the AIADMK, 21 out of 22 candidates of the DMK, 69 out of 77 candidates of the BJP, 49 out of 56 candidates of the Congress, four out of five candidates of the TMC, and 18 out of 86 candidates of the BSP.

As part of the electoral process, candidates from various political parties have disclosed personal details, including assets and any criminal background.

The upcoming Lok Sabha elections are scheduled to be held in seven phases, with the first phase set to commence on April 19. The election results are slated to be announced on June 4.
