70% voter turnout was recorded by the Election Commission in the first two phases of Lok Sabha Elections. The third phase of elections takes place tomorrow in 11 states and two Union Territories for over 115 seats.

Hot seats in Phase three of Lok Sabha Elections and their states

Gujarat: Gujarat’s 26 out of 26 seats go to poll during the third phase of elections including Gandhinagar, Dhod, Bharuch and Surat.

Kerala: Similar to Gujarat, Kerala’s 20 constituencies will go to polls in the third phase of elections including Wayanad (from where Rahul Gandhi is contesting), Ponnani, Ernakulam and Thiruvananthapuram.

Karnataka: Not all but 14 out of 28 constituencies of Karnataka will go to polls in the third phase of elections. Vijayapur, Kalaburagi, Uttara Kannada and Shivamogga are among the key ones.

Maharashtra: Maharashtra has 48 constituencies out of which 14 constituencies will go to polls in the third phase. Raigad, Baramati, Jalna, Hatkanangle and Raver are in the limelight.

Assam: Dhubri and Kokrajhar are the key constituencies

Bihar: Madhepura and Supaul are two constituencies in limelight from this state.

Goa: North Goa comes in focus as the third phase has polls in this constituency.

Jammu and Kashmir: The Anantnag constituency is in focus as the phase three elections take place here.

Richie Rich candidates

As per the National Election Watch and Association of Democratic Reforms analysis, there are 1,594 candidates standing for the Lok Sabha Elections. 392 candidates out of them are crorepatis with minimum assets worth RS 2.95 crore. 81 of the 392 candidates come from the Bhariya Janata Party (BJP).

The richest candidate is Kumar Devendra Singh Yadav is from the Samajwadi Party. He has assets worth Rs 204 crore and is contesting elections from the Etah Seat in Uttar Pradesh. Udayanraje Bhosle has listed assets worth Rs 199 crore. He is a candidate from Satara in Maharashtra. Congress’ Praveen Singh Aron follows him in the richest candidates list.
