The Association for Democratic Reforms and National Election Watch has recently shared data that analyzed Out of the 30 Chief Ministers of State Assemblies and Union Territories analyzed 29 (97%) are crorepatis. The top three Chief Ministers are Andhra Pradesh CM Yeduguri Sandinti Jagan Mohan Reddy who has 510 crores, Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu has 163 crores, and Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik has 63 crores. The average wealth of state assemblies and union territories per chief minister is 33.96 crores. However, it specified that the data was based on the analysis of the self-sworn poll affidavits of the 30 incumbent chief ministers of states and union territories.
On the other hand, the leader has the lowest assets are West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's assets worth Rs. 15.38 Lakhs, Pinarayi Vijayan, and Manohar Lal assets worth Rs. 1 crore. Subsequently, there are nine Chief Ministers have declared liabilities of Rs. 1 crore and above including Maharashtra CM Ekanath Sambhaji Shinde, Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai, and Telangana CM Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhar Rao.
Criminal Background of Chief Ministers - it has been analyzed that out of 30 Chief Ministers from States Assemblies and Union Territories 13 (43%) Chief Minister has declared criminal cases against serious criminal cases including cases related to murder, Kidnapping, criminal intimidation, etc.
Chief Minister's Educational Background- As per the ADR report Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is one of the most qualified leaders who holds Ph.D. degrees and out of 30 CMs, most of them are graduates, while nine hold post-graduation degrees. While Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde is the only CM with up to 10th standard education in the list, there are three who are 12th passers on the list.
Meanwhile, the gender equality ratio is still a concern point for the nation as out of 30 Chief Ministers; Only 1 (3%) woman is running the state.
