Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has the highest number of declared criminal cases among India’s 31 serving Chief Ministers, while Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu ranks second in terms of declared assets, according to a report released by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR).

Southern Chief Ministers dominate wealth rankings

The report, based on affidavits filed by the Chief Ministers, states that Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar is the country’s wealthiest Chief Minister with declared assets of ₹1,413 crore. Chandrababu Naidu is second with ₹931 crore, followed by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay with ₹648 crore. Revanth Reddy, with declared assets of more than ₹30 crore, ranks eighth.

Among the Chief Ministers with the lowest declared assets, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah tops the list with ₹55 lakh, followed by West Bengal’s Suvendu Adhikari with ₹85 lakh and Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma with about ₹1 crore.

Revanth Reddy leads in criminal cases

The report says 14 Chief Ministers have declared criminal cases. Revanth Reddy tops the list with 89 cases. Suvendu Adhikari follows with 29 cases, while D.K. Shivakumar and Chandrababu Naidu have 19 cases each. Two Chief Ministers have declared cases related to attempt to murder.

The ADR analysis also notes that the combined declared assets of all 31 Chief Ministers stand at about ₹3,660 crore. In terms of age, 17 Chief Ministers are between 51 and 60 years, while eight are in the 41-50 age group.
