NEW DELHI: The election watchdog ADR today said Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal has 10 criminal casesagainst him.

The Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR), on the basis of its analysis of the affidavits of 673 candidates in fray for February 7 Delhi assembly polls, pointed out that Congress leader Shoib Iqbal, contesting from Matia Mahal has maximum criminal cases against him.

Iqbal is followed by AAP leaders Arvind Kejriwal and Gulab Singh who have 10 criminal cases each against them.

While Kejriwal is seeking re-election from high-profile New Delhi constituency, Singh is contesting from Matiala.

They are closely followed by Shiromani Akali Dal's Manjinder Singh Sirsa who is also the richest candidate in fray and has declared 9 criminal cases against himself.

Congress candidate Asif Mohd Khan, who is contesting from Okhla constituency, has declared 7 criminal cases while AAP's Manish Sisodia has 6.

"Arvind Kejriwal has declared in his affidavit that he has 47 charges against him including causing hurt to deter public servant from duty, disobedience to order promulgated by public servant, rioting and defamation, among others. Out of these, cognizance has been taken in seven cases and charges have been framed in one case," Jagdeep Chhokar, founder-member, ADR, said at a press conference here.

ADR has pointed out in its report that as many as 114 out of 673 candidates in poll fray have criminal cases against them and 19 out of 70 were 'red alert' constituencies which had at least three tainted candidates each.
