New Delhi: With an overwhelming 83% of candidates, part of 'Crorepati' club in Haryana, money power appears to have come out as real winner in the recently concluded assembly elections in the state.
As per Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR) 75 of the 90 MLAs in the state are crorepatis and the victorious Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stands out from the wealthy pack.
 
For the saffron party, forty legislators have assets worth more than Rs. 1 crore.
 
Five of BJP MLA’s, out of total 9, have criminal cases pending against their name.
BJP MLA from Faridabad Vipul Goyal owns the highest assets worth Rs. 106 crore, as per the report.
Forty of 47 legislators are crorepatis, 14 out of 15 in Congress, 13 of INLD, 1 BSP and 5 independent are millionaires.
 
The average assets per winner for 47 BJP MLAs is Rs. 10.50 crore, while INLD's 19 have average assets of Rs.13.01 crore and the 15 belonging to the Congress have average assets worth Rs. 12.45 crore.
