Congress candidate Rakesh Mutha, who is contesting from the Dalit-dominated Ashok Nagar, is circulating messages among voters claiming he will expose the BJP's real face in the Faridabad incident in which two Dalit families were targeted and two kids burned to death.

Congress general secretary, Sanjay Dutt, has taken to the Twitter route to campaign. Instead of touring wards, Dutt reportedly tweets on national, state and locals issues.

In his campaign, NCP leader and party spokesperson Mahesh Tapase blamed the BJP-Sena for not doing anything for the twin city of Kalyan and Dombivli since it came to power in the state. Tapase also targeted the BJP over the beef ban issue, saying that the party has now started keeping a watch on what the public should eat and what it should not.

Claiming that the Sena-BJP, which controls the civic body, has failed to complete various projects like the BSUP, Govindwadi bypass road and many others, Tapase said the public will teach them lesson this time.

Interestingly, defections have left the Congress-NCP in a tight spot. While the Congress now has only 12 of the 15 corporators in the party, in NCP only 5 corporators are left out of 14. All other corporators have joined the BJP-Shiv Sena.
