The BJP raked in a whopping Rs 6,769.14 crore last financial year—over seven times Congress’s haul and 85% of all national parties’ earnings, per the Association for Democratic Reforms analysis of Election Commission filings. BJP’s cash pile dwarfed Congress’s Rs 918.28 crore (11.53% share), with CPI(M) at Rs 172.60 cr, BSP Rs 58.58 cr, AAP Rs 39.28 cr, and NPEP a mere Rs 2.18 cr—totaling Rs 7,960 cr across six parties. Donations fueled 85% of the pot (Rs 6,773 cr), BJP grabbing 90% of its income (Rs 6,125 cr) this way, while BSP got zero and relied fully on other sources. BJP spent 56% (Rs 3,775 cr), pouring Rs 3,335 cr into elections and propaganda plus Rs 323 cr on admin—prudent compared to Congress overspending by 21% (Rs 1,112 cr vs income). CPI(M) nearly broke even, AAP spent 93%, BSP blew past income by 81% (Rs 106 cr), highlighting cash flow strains for smaller players. Year-on-year, BJP surged 56%, AAP 73%, but Congress dipped 25% and BSP 9.6%.
