A report published by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) has revealed the assets of Chief Ministers across India, highlighting the richest and poorest among them. The report, released on Monday, December 30, identifies Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu as the wealthiest, with a net worth of Rs 931 crore. In contrast, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is the least wealthy, with a net worth of Rs 15 lakh.
According to ADR report the average asset per CM, including State Assemblies and Union Territories, is Rs 52.59 crore.
It is noteworthy that, during the financial year of 2023-2024, India’s Net National Income (NNI) amounted to an estimated Rs 1,85,854. Consider that a Chief Minister draws an average income which comes to about Rs 13,64,310 during this period—a whopping 7.3 times more than the country’s average per capita income.
The total assets of all Chief Ministers of India (31) are worth Rs 1,630 crores.

The second wealthiest Chief Minister is Arunachal Pradesh’s Pema Khandu. He has assets worth Rs 332 crores, followed by Karnataka’s Siddaramaiah who has assets worth more than Rs 51 crore.
The report said that Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah is the second poorest CM in the country with assets worth Rs 55 lakh. Pinarayi Vijayan is third with Rs 1.18 crore.
