West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee remains the poorest among India's 31 CMs, with declared assets of just over Rs 15 lakh, a recent report from the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) has revealed. According to the ADR report, Banerjee continues to be the poorest CM with the lowest assets among other chief ministers in the country. The report by ADR, which works in the area of electoral and political reforms, states that Banerjee has declared assets of Rs 15.4 lakh.
She is followed by Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah with assets worth Rs 55 lakh and Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan with assets worth more than Rs 1 crore. The ADR list draws data mentioned in the affidavits filed by the CMs before the last assembly polls they contested.

Which Chief Ministers top the chart?
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu continues to top the list with assets worth more than Rs 931 crore, followed by Pema Khandu of Arunachal Pradesh (Rs 332 crore). The two are the only billionaires on the list.
When it comes to Mamata Banerjee's assets, the data was analysed based on the affidavit that was filed before the by-election for the Bhowanipore assembly seat, held on September 30, 2021. During the 2016 assembly polls, her assets were worth Rs 30.4 lakh. She mentioned in the affidavit that "cash in hand" with her was Rs 69,255, while she had a bank balance of Rs 13.5 lakh, which included Rs 1.5 lakh in her election expenditure account, according to the report.
The total assets of the 31 Chief Ministers are worth Rs 1,630 crore, the ADR report analysed.
