Biju Janata Dal, the ruling party in Odisha, is the second richest regional party in the country. Also, BJD has seen the highest growth in income. Even so, the income of BJD is 25.33 percent of the income compare to other 36 small regional parties, according to the report of the Association for Democratic Reform (ADR).

According to the detailed report, the total income of all regional parties is 1213. 132 crores, BJD alone has an income of 307.288 crores. In 2021 the party spent 28.53 crores in various fields including election campaign. The remaining Rs 278.658 crore or more than 90 percent is left.

The biggest thing is that 291 crores or 94 percent of the total income has come through donations and grants. Even during the covid epidemic, there was no pause in the increase of the party’s funds.

The Election Commission of India has asked all political parties to submit their income and expenditure statements by the end of October. With 318.745 crores, DMK is number 1 in the list, while TRS is third and YSR Congress is fourth. Similarly, Aam Aadmi Party is at number 7.
